Job scope
In this role, you will lead supplier and portfolio strategies for electronics and mechanics, driving procurement excellence across the Metis Group. Your key objectives include optimizing the supply base, enhancing new product development, and minimizing total cost of ownership while ensuring supplier performance and procurement efficiencies.
As the group-level connection point, you will collaborate with development, production, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance, standardization, and a competitive advantage. Key responsibilities include negotiating and monitoring supplier agreements, leveraging group synergies, and optimizing bills of materials to achieve peak supplier performance.
Acting as the strategist, you will drive portfolio and supplier strategies in partnership with R&D, Supplier Quality, Legal, and Operations teams. This involves setting strategic direction, managing key suppliers, and coaching local procurement teams to align with group goals and ensure business success. Reporting directly to the Metis Group CEO, you will work closely with leadership and procurement teams across all group companies, ensuring alignment and strategic progress.

Main responsibilities
Define and implement the global procurement strategy and related policies with a 1–3-year horizon to drive top- and bottom-line impact.
Evaluate and manage suppliers to ensure capabilities, performance, and technologies meet business requirements through competitive assessments.
Lead sustainable procurement initiatives, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk mitigation for new and existing suppliers.
Represent category strategies and performance effectively to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
Negotiate pricing and contracts using market intelligence and benchmark data to secure optimal agreements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on supply base changes, cost reduction roadmaps, and initiatives like Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Value Engineering.
Manage and execute supplier agreements to meet business objectives.
Lead business reviews and supplier evaluations to foster continuous improvement in relationships and performance.
Ensure compliance for new supplier deployments while proactively addressing risks.
Support and coach local purchasing teams to enhance procurement capabilities and drive continuous improvement.
Job requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as business, procurement, electronics, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 10 years of procurement and/or commercial experience, with a strong understanding of electronic and mechanical components.
Experience working in a production environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing, with familiarity in product design processes as an added advantage.
Proven project management skills to drive strategic category objectives from initiation to completion.
Strong result orientation and business acumen, combined with good negotiation skills.
A proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to perform under high-pressure situations to deliver impactful results.
Effective leadership and coordination skills, capable of managing and orchestrating cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
