Your Role:
Are you, as a procurement professional, ready for the next step - where technology, procurement, and collaboration come together?
Within the high-tech environment of the Brainport region, we are looking for a Project Buyer (NPI) who will play a key role in supporting the introduction of new products within our organization.
In this role, you act as the bridge between Engineering and Procurement, translating technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies for components and materials.
You will be responsible for executing the purchasing strategy of the organization by managing the procurement process for assigned categories. This position works closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders like R&D, Supply Chain Planning, Operations, Logistics etc. and the broader procurement team to ensure that purchasing activities align with the company’s strategic goals and budgetary constraints.
Your focus will be on supporting New Product Introductions (NPI) by ensuring that the right suppliers, components, and commercial conditions are in place to enable timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support sourcing and supplier selection for components and materials required for new product introductions (NPI).
Supplier Selection (incl onboarding and off boarding) & dual sourcing
Manage and negotiate contracts (incl renewals / indexation mechanisms)
Master data maintenance in ERP (SAP) (prices, lead times, supplier info, order parameters)
Manage supplier relationship and performance and KPIs (Savings/RLIP/PPM/Responsiveness)
Analyze spend and identify cost-saving opportunities (nego & concept savings)
Mitigate supply risks and manage continuity plans (irt EOL and/or shortages)
Collaborate with Product Managers on should-costing and VA/VE
Actively contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and ensure early procurement involvement during product development.
Identify inventory reduction opportunities (MOQ, lead time, VMI)
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance)
Escalation point for Operational Buyer

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor or Master level of working and thinking
Education in a technical field or related to supply chain
Several years of experience in a purchasing/procurement role within a technical or industrial / manufacturing environment; preferable microelectronics
Affinity with high-tech, B2B, and project-driven procurement
Able to independently manage suppliers and internal stakeholders
Strong negotiation skills, with an eye for long-term relationships
Analytical, agile, decisive, and clear in communication
Proficient in both Dutch and English

Work Environment:
This position typically operates in an office setting (AME Eindhoven) but may require occasional travel to supplier sites or industry events.
