Scope of the role:
As an Operational Buyer you will be responsible for procuring goods and services needed for daily operations within AME. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, managing purchase orders and related ERP data and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support operational activities.
You will report to the Purchasing Manager.
This position typically operates in an office setting (AME Eindhoven) but may require occasional travel to supplier sites or industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute purchase orders based on requisitions and inventory needs.
Source and order goods and services at the best possible prices and terms.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and follow up on order confirmations, MRP re-scheduling messages and shipping.
Maintain accurate procurement records and data in ERP or procurement systems.
Communicate with internal departments to clarify specifications and delivery needs.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Support invoice reconciliation and work with the finance team to resolve discrepancies.
Job requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Associate (MBO+) or Bachelor’s (HBO) degree in supply chain management, business administration, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 1-4 years in operational purchasing or materials management within a technical, discrete products manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of procurement and supply chain principles.
Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate needs, collaborate with various stakeholders and to build strong relationships with suppliers.
Planning and problem solving: Ability to manage multiple priorities and a problem-solving mindset.
Accurate working: detail-oriented and organized, ensuring precise and reliable work outputs while maintaining efficiency and consistency.
System knowledge: Proficient in ERP-managed procurement processes and inventory management, with a preference for experience in SAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Procurement or supply chain certifications (e.g., Nevi 1, APICS) are a plus.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with electronic and/or mechanical manufacturing industry-specific standards and requirements related to purchasing.
Knowledge of contract terms and procurement regulations is a plus
