Scope of the role
In order to sustain the growth of AME moving forward we are looking for an R&D manager. He/she will contribute to AME’s and the Groups overall success by leading and managing the R&D department and as a member of the Management Team. The R&D manager reports to the General Manager of AME.
The AME R&D manager is responsible for defining and executing the development projects for its customers, executing the IP/technology roadmap – as defined together with the CTO -, manages the R&D department with about 45 staff in accordance with the management agenda and the mission/goals of the organization. He/she leads all relevant improvement activities. Being part of the Management Team, he/she will work closely with Sales, Operations, Quality, Finance and HR.
Key responsibilities
Build high performance R&D organization to support AME’s future growth;
Manage and develop team members;
Definition and integral execution of product development-projects (in close co-operation with Sales and Operations);
Execution of IP/technology roadmap as defined together with the CTO;
Strategic workforce planning, building competences;
Change Management & Continuous improvements (incl. life cycle management, quality, etc);
Positioning R&D within the business/group and with respect to competition/market (“outside-in view”);
Contribute to the company’s strategic agenda;
Execution related: budget process, in co-operation with other departments (finance, Ops, Quality, Sales, Technology, HR).
Measured by
On-time delivery with quality, customer satisfaction and within budget;
Other KPIs in Business Balanced Score Card and Key Initiatives and EES (employee engagement survey).

Highly credible customer facing professional with ability to bring customer insights and technology together proposing innovative solutions for our customers;
An energetic, "can do" approach and mentality and naturally inspires others;
Excellent networker with a collaborative approach to building relationships and making decisions, both external and internal;
10 + years in leading growing R&D organizations in high tech organizations, strong on the technical and people management;
Has a strong improvement and change management drive;
Has a visionary view of the industry and is able to communicate, present and radiate this effectively and inspiringly;
Fluent English is mandatory.
